Swimming and Athletics Carnivals

Lyndale runs Swimming and Athletics Carnivals that all students attend. Students are encouraged to participate in the competition in order that their house accumulates the highest points to win the day. Successful students are then encouraged to participate in inter-school sports later in the year.

                                                  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Inter-School Sports

      

 

 

 

Lyndale offers a wide range of sports for interschool competition involving students at all year levels.  The college is firmly committed to the total development of students.  This approach recognises that all students have academic, social, emotional and physical potentials. The college has the strongest sporting tradition in the Dandenong area and has successfully competed against all local secondary colleges.  This year, the college is competing in an eastern suburbs sporting group and is looking forward to further successes in the new competition.

In all three major group sporting championships, Lyndale has been particularly successful winning the Athletics Carnival consecutively for 30 years, the Cross Country Carnival consecutively for 29 years - in fact, for all the years these carnivals have been conducted!   In Athletics, Lyndale also achieved the title of the Premier Victorian High School in 1986, 1987 and 1996.

Numerous other summer and winter sports are conducted and excellent facilities are provided including the new basketball stadium, playing fields for soccer, hockey, football, cricket, baseball and softball;  outdoor courts for tennis, netball and basketball;  and indoor areas for basketball, netball, badminton, table tennis, weight training and volleyball.  Students have an excellent opportunity to improve their skills in a variety of sports and at the same time to participate in a team atmosphere.
