• There are 4 different scholarships offered to students at Lyndale, they are the Barry Powell  Memorial Academic Scholarships, Arts Scholarship, Sports Scholarship and Leadership Scholarship. They are awarded annually to Grade 6 students.
   

• The Barry Powell  Memorial Academic Scholarships are awarded on the basis of written tests in English, Mathematics, Science, and a student achievement profile.
   

• The Arts and Sports scholarships are awarded on the basis of an achievement (profile attached as part of the application forms) and recommendations made by Primary Teachers. The five most successful applicants will be asked to attend an interview at the college after which the scholarship winners will be chosen in each category.
   

• The Leadership scholarship will be awarded on the basis of outstanding leadership skills demonstrated by the student. Recommendations by Primary Teachers, Coaches and Community Leaders will be requested in order to choose the appropriate recipient. The five most successful applicants will be asked to attend an interview at the College and after careful consideration a scholarship winner will be chosen.
   

• The scholarships have a total value of $1,800 with a maximum of $300 allocated in each year of their schooling at this college.  The recipient may choose to use the scholarship allocation for textbooks, uniform items, camps or curriculum contribution payments.
   

• The scholarships are clearly of considerable prestige and value.
   

• Applications should be forwarded to the college by Monday 11 May 2009.
