Important details for applications

Students from Country Assessment Level 4 (such as China) must apply through a registered agent. Find an agent in your area on our list.

Students applying from Country Assessment Levels 3 & 4 must allow at least 9 months for the application & visa process.
Acceptance
-
Applications are assessed within 1-2 working days of receipt.

Provided all the necessary documentation is provided a preliminary letter of offer is issued within 3-4 working days of receipt of the application.

If the application is accepted students are sent an invoice for tuition fees. This must be paid within 28 days.

All offers of enrolment at a Victorian government school lapse after 28 days.
Pre Visa Assessment (PVA)

After students from Assessment Levels 3 & 4 receive a preliminary offer letter, the student is required to undergo a Pre-Visa Assessment (PVA).

Students can apply for a PVA by presenting their preliminary offer letter within 28 days to their local Australian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate.

Victorian Government Schools only issue 1 PVA per student.
Visa application

On receipt of tuition fees the ISPU issues an Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment form (eCoE)

A paper copy is also forwarded to students / agents which must be submitted with their visa

The application for a student visa can be made at any Australian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate. It can also be made online at the Immigration Department (www.immi.gov.au).

ESOS Legislative Framework
The Department of Education takes seriously its ESOS obligations, and endeavours to deliver educational services of the highest standard and to promote them in the most ethical manner possible. It monitors students' compliance with their visa conditions and reports to the Federal government wherever a student breaches their obligations.
